IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE STAYING ON THE BOAT

 

  • Remove the beacon from boat and store in a dry place to prevent false activation.
  • Update your contact information on your beacon registration in case of false activation.
  • In the U.S., update your registration with NOAA at: www.beaconregistation.noaa.gov 

IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE STAYING ON THE BOAT

 

  • Inspect the mounting bracket to make sure it is securely mounted.
  • Make sure the beacon is properly installed in bracket. (Lanyard facing in.)
  • If Applicable, make sure SeaShelter (Cat. I) lid is correctly installed and secured.
  • Update your contact information on your beacon registration in case of false activation.
  • In the U.S., update your registration with NOAA at: www.beaconregistation.noaa.gov

 

  • Understand that rescue efforts during a storm could be unlikely. Be prepared to survive the environment you are placing yourself in. Rescue resources may not be available until well after a storm passes
