ACR Electronics Attends 787 Fleet Conference to Strengthen Shared Safety Mission with Partner Boeing

Posted on October 6, 2025

Fort Lauderdale, FL – October 6th, 2025 – Aviation safety technology leader ACR Electronics is attending the Boeing 787 Fleet Team Conference this week to highlight the latest progress in the companies’ collaborative efforts to advance global aviation safety and aircraft distress tracking standards.

ACR Electronics experts are among the key supplier representatives and 787 owners and operators gathering with Boeing leaders at the Huntington Beach, CA, conference to discuss topics impacting the fleet.

Driven by a shared mission to meet new GADSS-ADT (Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System autonomous distress tracking) requirements, the longstanding Boeing and ACR Electronics partnership has delivered milestone type certification for the distress tracking (DT) Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT), the ARTEX ELT 5000, on Boeing aircraft.

The latest approval for the GADSS-compliant next generation ELT is certification on the Boeing 787 aircraft – marking another significant achievement in its successful Entry into Service, with several thousand flight hours logged to date.

The ACR Electronics ELT is the only approved and selectable ELT-DT option for Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 aircraft, with certifications for the 767 and 777 expected in the coming months.

With FAA TSO and COSPAS SARSAT approval since 2024, the type-certified ARTEX solution now offers a future-proof emergency distress signaling and tracking option for operators planning retrofits for aircraft delivered from January 1, 2024, to comply with local regulatory mandates.

Jeff Geraci, Vice President and General Manager of ARTEX, said: “We are proud to attend the 787 Fleet Conference and honored that our ARTEX ELT 5000 DT is the only selectable GADSS system for Boeing Aircraft. The 787 program is poised for growth and we will meet the increasing demand for our ELT DT products.

“Reinforcing our partnership with Boeing which aims to lead the industry into a future of enhanced aviation safety, we are looking forward to meeting colleagues and sharing our expertise as we continue to support the evolution of smarter, safer skies.”

Purpose-built to meet GADSS requirements, the ARTEX ELT 5000 delivers industry-leading performance and reliability, featuring advanced satellite tracking capabilities to support autonomous distress tracking.

The ELT 5000 is designed, manufactured, and tested in the United States by ACR Electronics. It builds on decades of experience in aviation emergency technologies and supports seamless integration into today’s advanced aircraft systems.

The purpose of the 787 Fleet Team Conference is to gain customer agreement on the identification, prioritization, and resolution of several fleet-wide technical issues which are intended to provide significant cost benefits to the fleet.
