Vad hände?
I was on a solo adventure motorcycle trip at a location along the Trans America Trail. It was one of my first nights camping at elevation. I think I was suffering from mild elevation sickness and fighting a stomach bug at the same time because after eating dinner and making camp I vomited and was starting to feel a fever coming on. I was just out of cell phone coverage and I didn’t feel comfortable riding back to town on the rutted out technical trail I came in on in my condition. Being solo and not sure how serious my condition was, I did not hesitate to use my ARC PLB to call for help. I was scared and never felt more alone. Within 2 hours a local sheriff located me and transported me to the hospital.

Being a solo self sufficient traveler I was tempted to “tough it out” and try to deal with my situation on my own. Looking back I am extremely grateful I came to my senses and called for help. Your life is worth more than your pride. Can’t be a tough guy if you’re dead.

I’m really glad I had your PLB to save my bacon. It allows me to mitigate my risk on my solo trips and really enjoy the awesome beauty the less traveled path affords.
