What happened?
I launched July 24th near Kaena Point on the North Shore of Oahu with some other experienced kayak fisherman. We were expecting beautiful weather and light winds as predicted by Noaa and multiple sources. Once we got a couple miles out, a remnant of a nearby tropical storm took a turn towards us and brought the worst conditions I’ve ever seen offshore in Hawaii. I had to be rescued and the ResQlink PLB helped the Coast Guard pinpoint my location.
Words of wisdom
The weather you’re expecting isn’t always the weather you get.
