A family’s inshore fishing trip in Christmas Bay, Texas, turned into a harrowing rescue mission when a sudden storm capsized their boat—leaving them stranded with their 21-month-old son. Thanks to their ACR Electronics Personal Locator Beacon (PLB), Wesley Clepper and his family were quickly located and rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard. Clepper now passionately advocates for carrying a PLB on every outdoor adventure, regardless of the environment. “I cannot stress to you enough how important it is to carry a PLB with you,” he said in an emotional video recounting the event.
