While getting to the summit of the 1200m high Brinkley\u2019s Bluff, I lost my balance on some rocks, and fell backwards.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This caused a severe laceration to my head and a concussion.<\/p>\n<p>\nMy wife and some good Samaritans stemmed the bleeding and activated our ACR ResQlink PLB,<\/p>\n<p>Within 90 minutes a rescue chopper with a paramedic aboard had arrived and flew me to the hospital, where I was stapled up and successfully recovered.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My wife and I were trekking the central Australian desert.
