ACR Electronics Introduces New AISLink CA1

Leading marine electronics manufacturer adds premium Class A transceiver
to comprehensive product range

International safety and survival technology expert ACR Electronics, a Drew Marine Company, has introduced its new AISLink CA1 Class A transceiver offering premium features and versatility for a range of commercial and recreational users.

A leading Automatic Identification System (AIS) Class A option, the compact and easy-to-use AISLink CA1 is a GPS-enabled, commercial standard system which demonstrates the highest AIS transmission power and the most frequent transmission of AIS information.

Developed to clearly display and track critical safety and navigational information, the compact unit will send and receive wireless data to and from nearby AIS-equipped vessels including the vessel’s name, position, course or speed over the ground, heading and rate of turn.

It is approved worldwide for both deep sea and inland waterways and appropriate for all vessels requiring a Class A shipboard AIS transponder system to comply with the new US Coast Guard AIS mandate affecting most commercial vessels operating in US waters.

Offering outstanding reliability and versatility, the AISLink CA1 provides users with an extensive feature set including an easy-to-use graphical interface with multi-lingual capability and a large, highly-visible monochrome LCD display. It interacts seamlessly with navigation systems through its NMEA 0183 interface and is very easy to install.

The competitively-priced unit combines its demonstrated history of the highest level of operational performance with a water resistant, rugged and durable design comprised of marine grade components.

Additional features include the ability to send and receive AIS text messages, alarm notification showing active AIS system alarms and password protection of specific transceiver information.

Gerry Angeli, President of ACR Electronics, said: “The safety of the vessel and its crew is always the most important priority and it must be beneficial that more commercial vessels operating along the US coasts will soon be equipped with AIS. By installing ACR’s AISLink CA1 transceiver, or in some cases our AISLink CB1 Class B transceiver, captains globally will have access to state-of-the-art technology allowing navigation to be simplified. The ACR AIS transceivers offer high reliability, performance and compliance with regulations at a competitive price. They facilitate faster communication and navigational planning especially when vessels are hidden or obstructed from radar.”

Global leader in survival gear ACR’s new AIS product offering also includes its new AISLink CB1 Class B transceivers, further establishing the company as an industry leader with the capabilities to provide a comprehensive portfolio of devices to the marine market place.

Committed to developing the next generation of survival products, ACR can now provide commercial captains and recreational boat owners worldwide with the ability to benefit from the exchange of vital navigational data between vessels and ports provided by the VHF digital transmissions enabled by AIS.

The bolstered product line includes a full range of AIS transceivers, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs), Search and Rescue Transponders (SARTs), AIS Man Overboard Beacons, VHF radios, searchlights, rescue strobe lights, pyrotechnics and other safety accessories.
