ACR Electronics Declares June 4th “406 MHz Beacon Awareness Day” Abroad

London, England - ACR Electronics, Inc., the industry leader in Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) and Emergency Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) manufacturing declares the 4th of June to be "406 MHz Beacon Awareness Day." ACR is asking our beacon owners, partners and survivors to help spread the word and share their stories! The 406 MHz technology has saved over 35,000 lives around the world since the early 1980's*; this is certainly a statistic to be celebrated. Visit and read first-hand testimonies to learn why a 406 MHz beacon should be part of your outdoor safety plan.

ACR is asking you to do your part to promote 406 MHz beacon use by sharing your specially tailored message and photo on your social media accounts. Tell everyone what your PLB or EPIRB frees you to do. Include a picture of the activity or place your beacon gives you the freedom to go. ACR will be giving random participants prizes for sharing their 406 MHz message. This contest will run from 2-9th June 2014.
