We had had spectacular weather and views for the whole walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, only 90 minutes before the end, I stepped off a swing bridge and due to the uneven ground, the way I fell and the weight of my backpack I dislocated my hip. I was in immediate pain and unable to move. Fortunately my friends were able to access my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acrartex.com\/products\/resqlink-400\/\">ResQLink 400<\/a> beacon and set it off. \u00a0The medic had to be winched down as the helicopter could not land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It took quite a while to stabilise me, get me pain free and into a place where I could be winched into the helicopter. Then it was off to hospital where it took 3 attempts to reduce my hip and get it back into it&#8217;s rightful position.
