When a storm was building, I had to activate the epirb and send out a mayday. I was no longer capable of steering the boat in waves up to and larger than 25 ft and winds of 40kts<\/p>\n<p>I was rescued by MV Spar Sirius about 120 nm off the coast of Durban and my sailing boat was towed into Durban, while I was safely on board this 184m long cargo vessel with a crew of 22.
