Der Artex B406-4 sendet auf allen drei Notruffrequenzen (121,5\/243,0 und 406 MHz). Bei einem Unfall aktiviert sich das ELT automatisch und sendet den Standard-Sweep-Ton auf 121,5 und 243,0 MHz. Alle 50 Sekunden schaltet sich der 406-MHz-Sender f\u00fcr 520 Millisekunden (Long Message Protocol) ein und sendet eine verschl\u00fcsselte digitale Nachricht an das Cospas\/Sarsat-Satellitensystem. In Verbindung mit dem Artex ELT \/NAV-Interface B (P\/N 453-6501) kann das ELT mit der 24-Bit-Adresse des Flugzeugs sowie mit L\u00e4ngen- und Breitengradinformationen des Navigationssystems programmiert werden. Der B406-4 ist f\u00fcr die Verbindung mit dem Master Caution System von Boeing in Verbindung mit dem DZUS-montierten Cockpit-Remote-Panel konzipiert.
